The age of the competitor as of August 31, 2009 will be the age used for competition purposes throughout the 2009-2010 season for all divisions. RECREATIONAL TEAMS Note: In order to compete in a Rec League Division, the team must meet ALL of the criteria listed below:
With the offering of bids to the US Finals for school and recreational teams, we want to make the process as uniform as possible. US Finals has just released their guidelines for the school and recreational teams and we will be following their format to allow the transition from competition to competition. However, in the recreational division we will only be offering 3 of the 4 divisions We will not be offering Limited Advanced. US Finals will allow a maximum of 36 per squad, however, since tryouts and registrations for recreational teams have already taken place, we will allow 40 at the GMCE events. Please be sure that you are aware if you are going to US Finals, that only 36 members will be permitted to compete at their event. 1. Limited Intermediate 5-40 members male/female 2. Intermediate 5-40 members male/female 3. Advanced 5-40 members male/female ** NON MOUNT TEAMS--These rules specify guidelines for mounting teams, but non mount teams should follow the same general guidelines as well as tumbling guidelines and disregard the stunts/pyramids section of the rules. In addition to the rules set forth by The US Finals, we will require that the routine include a cheer and a chant. You may still do your routine to all music or partial music, with no debate as to which is better, but you must include a cheer and a chant in your routine. SCHOOL TEAMS In an effort to maintain a competitive atmosphere, The GMCE reserves the right to close, combine or open divisions at any time leading up to each event. We will split small and large based on registrations per event. The competitor has to be in the grade for the appropriate division for the 2009-2010 school year. *If a school district allows for athletes below 9th grade to compete at the "high school level" the athlete is eligible.Proof must be available upon request.
